AVL Tracker System

AVL Tracker

Features and Benefits

With AVL Tracker, you can:
Plot Vehicle Icons on the Map The AVL Tracker displays on a map the last known location of each vehicle in the fleet. You can filter the vehicles to display only those you are interested in.
Control Zooming and Panning Standard Zoom In and Zoom Out controls are used along with Max Zoom and Min Zoom buttons to reduce the number of clicks needed to zoom in or out. You can also pan across the map to see locations outside the current view.
Check the Status of Vehicles at a Glance Vehicle icons are color coded based on their status--whether they are running early, on-time, late, etc.
Check Vehicle Info Clicking on a vehicle icon displays information for that vehicle and any vehicles in the immediate area. Information includes location, speed, on-time status, etc.
Display Vehicles by Geographic Sector Users can display Sector lines on the map for predefined sectors. Edmonton does not use sectors.
Control the View Multiple Ways The system lets you select how you want to have the vehicles displayed:

  1. Display all vehicles on the map.
  2. Display all vehicles that are running late.
  3. Display a vehicle based on Run ID.
  4. Display a selected vehicle and utilize the “follow” function.
  5. Display all vehicles in a specific sector.
  6. Display and monitor a user specified group of vehicles.

  3. Display all vehicles that have sent an AVL record in the last X hours.
  4. Display all vehicles that haven’t had an AVL update for the past X minutes.
Display Vehicle Counts The user can view a count of the number of vehicles on the screen by filter. For example, a count will be provided of “All vehicles that are late” when that group is selected.
Search for a Specific Vehicle Searching is a quick way to find a specific vehicle with its vehicle ID and run ID displayed on the map.
Follow a Vehicle on the Map The Vehicle table includes vehicle direction.  The direction can be seen by using the Follow function or by viewing the vehicle information.
